Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) in Maluku are being encouraged to expand their business capacity by focusing on exports. According to Sodikin, the Head of the Maluku Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, an export-oriented approach can broaden the market reach of UMKM products, ultimately boosting the local economy and supporting regional economic growth. Sodikin emphasized that his office continuously supports and facilitates Maluku UMKMs to advance and successfully engage in export activities, ensuring the continuity of these activities. He noted that Customs regulations have been simplified to allow UMKMs to export directly without needing large volumes, understanding the constraints of limited capital. "No matter the quantity of goods being exported, as long as there is a buyer, Customs will facilitate the process," he explained. With the abundant raw materials in Maluku, ranging from the fisheries and marine sectors to plantations, UMKMs have a strong foundation to increase their business capacity. This approach aims to not only serve the domestic market but also penetrate international markets, which offer broader opportunities.
