The Indonesian Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) reported strong global demand for Indonesian batik in 2023. To further enhance batik exports in the coming years, Kemenperin continues to innovate. The Industrial Standardization and Service Policy Agency (BSKJI), through the Yogyakarta Center for Craft and Batik Standardization and Services (BBSPJIKB), introduced several digital innovations during National Batik Day 2024. Andi Rizaldi, Head of BSKJI, highlighted that Indonesian batik is globally recognized for its cultural value and holds a significant position in global markets.
The launch of the Batik and Craft Ecosystem application, Syndi (Synthetical Dyes Indexation), and Digital Batik Motif is expected to improve efficiency for batik industry players. Rizaldi emphasized these tools aim to support over 2,000 batik industry participants across Indonesia. Additionally, two new books, Batik Lintas Nusa and Ragam Motif Kerajinan Nusantara, were also unveiled to further enrich the industry’s resources.
