The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) is mapping out products that can drive Indonesia's economic growth to 8%, aligning with the goals of President and Vice President Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka. Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita stated in Jakarta on Tuesday that he will task sectoral supervisors within Kemenperin to identify products with the highest competitive and comparative advantages that can help advance the national economy.
Agus emphasized the importance of focusing and prioritizing, given limited resources and time. Each domestic industry sector must map out products with the potential to grow above 8%, allowing Kemenperin to provide stimuli to strengthen these sectors. Additionally, sectors with high production costs will be mapped to create strategies for more efficient production processes. This product identification aims to support President Prabowo's vision of achieving energy resilience and food self-sufficiency, crucial priorities in their Asta Citanya mission to transform Indonesia into a self-sufficient and industrialized nation with economic growth targets above 8%.
