The Indonesia Pavilion is participating in SIAL Paris 2024, the largest food and beverage industry exhibition in Europe, featuring 29 companies from the food and beverage sector. This promotional effort, initiated by the Indonesian Embassy in Paris, the Ministry of Trade, and the Ministry of Industry of Indonesia, aims to build on the success of the previous event, which saw transactions reach USD 30 million. Ruth Joanna, Trade Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Paris, expressed optimism for a 10-20 percent increase in transactions this year.
Aprilia Melissa, Media Relations for the Indonesian Bean to Bar Chocolate Association (ACBI), highlighted the premium chocolate offerings made from unique cocoa beans sourced from remote areas in Indonesia, such as West Java and Papua. The Indonesian chocolates, despite their premium pricing, have captivated potential buyers from various countries including France, Japan, Hong Kong, and Brazil, for their distinctiveness and rich flavors. The association is also exploring the synergy between agriculture and tourism, aiming to attract tourists to visit cocoa plantations and experience the chocolate-making process firsthand.
