The Trade Attaché in Cairo, the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo, and the Central Sulawesi Provincial Department of Marine and Fisheries have collaborated to boost the export of vanamei shrimp to the Egyptian market. One of their initiatives includes visiting the vanamei shrimp farms owned by PT Esaputlii Prakarsa Utama (EPU) in Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi, on Wednesday, October 16th. “The Indonesian government continues to synergize in boosting domestic vanamei shrimp exports to the Egyptian market. One of the efforts is by visiting the vanamei shrimp farms owned by PT EPU in Central Sulawesi. This visit represents the government’s support for PT EPU, which has the capacity to meet the national market's demand for vanamei shrimp. Additionally, PT EPU is expected to meet the Middle Eastern market demand, particularly the Egyptian market,” said Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt, Lutfi Rauf.
Accompanying Ambassador Lutfi were Cairo Trade Attaché M. Syahran Bhakti S, and Economic Affairs Officer at the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo, Rifki Rustam Arsyad. Also present were PT EPU CEO Ahmad Bhakty Baramuli, PT EPU Parigi Moutong Branch Head Efendi Batjo, PT EPU Cold Storage Head Thomas Pattiapon, PT EPU Middle East Market Consultant Moh. Khaliq Prabowo, and representatives from the Central Sulawesi Provincial Department of Marine and Fisheries. Ambassador Lutfi revealed that PT EPU’s vanamei shrimp products are among the favored Indonesian fishery and marine products in the Egyptian market. He noted that Egypt is a potential market for Indonesia's superior products, including vanamei shrimp. “Egyptian consumers highly favor Indonesian fishery and marine products, including vanamei shrimp. This proves that Indonesian vanamei shrimp have high quality and competitiveness. This momentum is expected to be utilized optimally to increase export volumes to the Egyptian market,” added Ambassador Lutfi.
