TEI 39th Expo Exceeds Expectations with USD 22.73 Billion in Transactions

Tangerang: The 39th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) officially concluded on Saturday, October 12, 2024, with significant achievements. By 12:00 PM WIB, the event had successfully recorded transactions totaling USD 22.73 billion. These transactions included USD 19.59 billion from goods and services and USD 3.04 billion from investment deals, surpassing the initial target of USD 15 billion. Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, who officiated the closing ceremony, expressed gratitude for the enthusiasm shown by exporters, buyers, and investors. “TEI continues to deliver benefits for exporters and buyers while introducing innovations with each edition,” he noted. This year’s event saw participation from 1,460 businesses, with 41,488 visitors from 140 countries, and 8,042 international buyers.


India led with the highest transaction value at USD 7.46 billion, contributing 37.91% of total deals. Other significant transactions were from Vietnam (USD 3.67 billion, 18.64%), the Netherlands (USD 2.76 billion, 14.03%), the Philippines (USD 2.25 billion, 11.46%), and Egypt (USD 623.40 million, 3.17%). Key products included coal (USD 7.34 billion, 37.29%), steel (USD 2.72 billion, 13.85%), palm oil (USD 1.76 billion, 8.94%), logistics (USD 1.66 billion, 8.41%), and paper (USD 1.05 billion, 5.34%). Zulkifli called on Indonesian businesses to continue producing high-quality goods, leveraging technology, and embracing sustainable practices to further enhance the nation’s trade performance.
