The Provincial Government of West Java (Jabar) has signed a cooperation agreement with Central Java (Jateng) to manage regional borders and collaborate on initiatives to boost economic and socio-cultural development in the border areas. This agreement covers several border segments, including Cirebon-Brebes, Kuningan-Brebes, Kuningan-Cilacap, Ciamis-Cilacap, Banjar-Cilacap, and Pangandaran-Cilacap.
Herman Suryatman, representing the West Java Provincial Government, emphasized the importance of fostering economic growth and maintaining social stability in these border regions. Additionally, the agreement includes plans to optimize the operation of West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati in Majalengka, which has resumed domestic and international flights. This development is expected to provide significant benefits for residents in western Central Java, particularly for passenger transport, cargo, and religious pilgrimages, including Hajj and Umrah. Central Java Secretary Sumarno welcomed this collaboration, highlighting the importance of close cooperation with neighboring provinces.
