According to an official statement from the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta on Friday (4 October), the meeting, held on Thursday (3 October), focused on advancing U.S.-Indonesia trade relations. Topics covered included economic goals outlined in the U.S.-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and updates to current import-export regulations that impact trade in Indonesia.
U.S. Embassy spokesperson Jamie Ravetz highlighted that bilateral trade between the U.S. and Indonesia increased from USD 29 billion (approximately IDR 451.3 trillion) in 2018 to USD 40.5 billion (approximately IDR 630.3 trillion) in 2023, reflecting a 40% growth over the period.
