The Surabaya City Government received the award for First Place in the Best Investment Service category during the 2024 Investment Service Awards (ALI) held at the Grand Ballroom of Hotel Mulia Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday, September 30, 2024. The award was presented by the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, alongside Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, to the Acting Mayor of Surabaya, Restu Novi Widiani. This recognition is part of the assessment of the Integrated One-Stop Service (PTSP) and the Acceleration of Business Implementation (PPB) by local governments, aimed at enhancing the efficiency of licensing services at both central and local levels.

Lasidi, the Acting Head of the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP) of Surabaya, emphasized that the city's recognition as the Best City in ALI 2024 reflects the successful outcomes of PTSP and PPB initiatives for 2024. He attributed this success to the innovation of Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi, who centralized all licensing service staff in one location at the Public Service Mall (MPP) Siola, particularly in the Investment Clinic. To facilitate investment in the city, Lasidi highlighted that the local government has established standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each type of licensing available through online services. This digital approach aims to enhance the quality of licensing services by simplifying processes and requirements, making it easier for businesses to obtain permits. Additionally, all licensing services are monitored directly by the Mayor of Surabaya via a dashboard, ensuring timeliness in processing permits. The city is also working to open new tourist destinations to attract investors, reinforcing Surabaya's role as a hub for trade and services, supported by the recent Mayor Regulation No. 24 of 2024, which aims to improve licensing processes and encourage investment in the region. Innovations like Pesona Buaya are being introduced to facilitate and streamline the permit acquisition process for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Surabaya.
