To explore potential collaboration in the clean water sector, the state-owned enterprise PT Jasa Tirta Satu visited Sumbawa on Monday, September 30, 2024. This visit aimed to conduct mitigation related to the planned management of water sources from the Regional Drinking Water Company (Perumdam) Batulanteh in Sumbawa Regency. Abdul Hakim, S.E., the Director of Perumdam Batulanteh, confirmed on Monday, October 1, 2024, that a technical team from the Malang-based company had arrived in Sumbawa. Before conducting the survey, the team, led by the Division of Innovation and Portfolio, along with H. Khaeruddin, S.E., M.Si from the Sumbawa Regency Economic Department, held a coordination meeting with the Director of Perumdam Batulanteh regarding the mitigation activities in Sumbawa.

Abdul Hakim noted that this visit was a reciprocal one, following Perumdam Batulanteh's visit to Malang in November 2023. He emphasized the importance of the PT Jasa Tirta Satu team's visit, with mitigation activities set to begin on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. The team will conduct field inspections to assess the potential of raw water sources in Sumbawa, including evaluating water yield, existing infrastructure, and available facilities. The goal is to provide a clear picture for future investment in the drinking water sector. The team will inspect the water sources at Semongkat Barat, the Beringin Sila Utan Dam, and the Water Treatment Plant (IPA) owned by Perumdam Batulanteh Sumbawa. This survey aims to identify any necessary improvements or strategic programs that could be developed to enhance services to the community and support medium- to long-term investments, especially once the raw water source at Ai-Ngelar becomes operational. The survey is expected to last one to two days.
