The Wonderful Indonesia Tourism Fair (WITF) and Southeast Asia Business Events Forum (SEABEF) 2024 are expected to enhance Indonesia's aviation industry, according to Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi. He expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy for organizing the events, stating that they embody the spirit of connectivity, collaboration, and innovation, which can positively impact the domestic aviation sector. Speaking on Thursday, 3 October 2024, he emphasized that in an ever-changing world, the travel industry is a key driver for resilience and opportunities. WITF and SEABEF 2024 present an ideal platform for exploring the sector's potential.
However, Indonesia still faces significant challenges in the aviation industry, both nationally and globally. These challenges include rising fuel costs and global supply chain disruptions, which limit aircraft availability amid increasing demand. The Minister hopes that all participants will collaborate to address these issues, aiming to improve air connectivity across 17 international airports. Notably, WITF is a B2B exhibition, with 195 buyers from 38 countries attending, while SEABEF will focus on key issues related to Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) development in the ASEAN region.
