The Directorate General of Customs and Excise reported that customs and excise revenue (PKC) in Papua reached IDR 5,552.33 billion (5.55 trillion) by August 2024, achieving 230.22% of the target. "This figure surpasses the 2024 State Budget (APBN) target and reflects a significant increase of 1,114.45% compared to August 2023 (year-on-year)," stated Samuel Jacobus Mayckel Siahainenia, the Head of Customs and Excise Service and Technical Support at Jayapura Customs, during a press conference for the APBNKita in Papua at the GKN Jayapura on Monday (September 30, 2024). Samuel explained that the notable growth in PKC revenue exceeding the target was attributed to a deviation analysis or projection inspection method conducted in August, during which there was a steady flow of goods imports across the entire Papua Province.
