Palm Oil and Coffee Products Record Transactions of IDR 479 Billion in China

The Indonesian Ministry of Trade reported that palm oil, coconut, cloves, coffee, and tropical fruits from Indonesia generated potential transactions worth IDR 479 billion during the 21st China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) held from 24 to 28 September 2024 in China. “We are proud of the transaction results achieved; this is solid proof of the immense potential of Indonesian products. We hope the outcomes of this exhibition will drive export growth and enhance the competitiveness of local products in international markets, particularly in China," said Mardyana Listyowati, Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday. Indonesia showcased three pavilions: the Commodity Pavilion, the National Pavilion, and the ASEAN High Tech Pavilion. The Commodity Pavilion featured 51 participants, some of whom were supported by the central and regional governments or state-owned enterprises. Meanwhile, the National Pavilion, managed by the Palm Oil Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS), promoted the potential of palm oil and its derivatives, while the ASEAN High Tech Pavilion focused on electric vehicles produced by Wuling Indonesia, highlighting Indonesia's position as an investment-friendly nation.

According to Mardyana, this exhibition not only opened doors to new cooperation but also allowed Indonesian businesses to engage with China's vast market. "With these encouraging results, Indonesia is increasingly optimistic about strengthening its position in international markets, especially in China and ASEAN," she said. Miftah Farid, Director of Primary Product Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, added that Indonesia also participated in various forums, such as Dialogue China's Green Value Chain and the China-Indonesia Trade and Investment Conference in Nanning, China. These events were part of the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) 2024 and the Indonesia-China Investment Forum. Indonesia also held bilateral meetings with Guangxi Province representatives and attended the RCEP High-Level Dialogue at the Shangri-La Hotel in Nanning. "Participation in CAEXPO 2024, along with international forums, is a strategic platform to promote Indonesian products and investments," Miftah concluded.
