The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, praised Halal Network International (HNI) for its role as a multi-level marketing company with over 5 million partners across Indonesia, contributing significantly to the consumption of domestic halal creative products. During his keynote speech at HNI's 12th anniversary celebration at the Sentul International Convention Center in Bogor on September 22, 2024, Sandiaga highlighted that according to the State of the Global Islamic Economy Report 2023, Muslim consumers spent approximately USD 2.2 trillion on halal products, a figure projected to rise to USD 2.4 trillion in 2024. This potential is bolstered by a global Muslim population of 1.8 billion, which is expected to continue growing.
Sandiaga emphasized that the rapid growth of the Muslim population should be matched by the availability of sharia-compliant and halal products, positively impacting Indonesia's economic development. He noted HNI's contribution as a halal product manufacturer that enhances domestic consumption with a range of popular halal products, including toothpaste, coffee, tea, honey, and sanitary pads. The unique aspect of HNI's model lies in its partnership principle, where products created by its partners are produced on a large scale, fostering an equitable economy. Sandiaga expressed hope that HNI could expand its business reach by becoming a public company and optimizing digital transformation to enhance broader welfare. He underscored the importance of leveraging digitalization to achieve greater prosperity and was accompanied by Masruroh, an expert staff member from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
