The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, the Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association (KPBMA), and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI), in collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of Health and BPOM, held the "Indonesia-Korea Medical Roadshow 2024" on Wednesday (11/9/2024). The event brought together 14 pharmaceutical companies and 19 medical device firms from South Korea, showcasing cutting-edge technologies in imaging diagnostics, skincare, in vitro diagnostics, and digital health services. Oi Young Jeong, KOTRA's Executive Vice President for Innovative Growth, highlighted that the event serves as a platform to better understand the Indonesian medical market and aims to help South Korean companies enter Indonesia's healthcare sector. KOTRA will continue to promote biomedical programs and support Korean companies in expanding globally.
BPOM RI's Head, Taruna Ikrar, expressed confidence that this collaboration would enhance Indonesia's healthcare technology standards. He emphasized the importance of learning from South Korea’s technological innovations, particularly in biopharmaceuticals and healthcare services. In this roadshow, 33 prominent South Korean companies will engage in direct consultations with 70 promising Indonesian firms. Furthermore, the RI and South Korean governments signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Halal Product Assurance (JPH) in early September last year, facilitating the certification process for Korean products in Indonesia.
