The Bank Indonesia (BI) Cirebon Representative Office in West Java recently facilitated the export of rattan furniture worth USD 10,250 to France, produced by one of their supported entrepreneurs. "This rattan furniture is made by PT Masagena Maruarar Salaswana (Molja), one of our partner businesses," said Anton Pitono, Head of KPw BI Cirebon, on Tuesday. He highlighted that this export is a result of BI Cirebon's business matching program, aimed at supporting MSMEs. Previously, hundreds of MSMEs from Cirebon and surrounding areas participated in the Ciayumajakuning Entrepreneur Festival (CEF) 2024, showcasing their products. Anton emphasized that this export is a testament to BI Cirebon’s ongoing efforts to advance MSMEs. The rattan products exported to France meet global standards and are competitive internationally. BI Cirebon will continue to collaborate with local governments to help MSMEs produce high-quality products targeting international markets. "The ultimate goal is for MSMEs to be able to export, but sustainability is key," Anton stated. PT Molja Owner Novan mentioned that the government and BI Cirebon have significantly supported their business, enabling them to export products. This export to France is the second of 2024, with 90 rattan furniture units sent using three container trucks. They plan to send two more containers next month. Besides France, potential European markets for rattan products include Germany and the Netherlands, but their primary target is the United States, despite the challenges. "Entering the U.S. market would indicate global recognition of our product and quality," he added.
