The City Government of Cirebon, West Java, is offering consultation services and development programs for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to help them market their products internationally. "This program aims to facilitate MSMEs in reaching export markets," said Iing Daiman, Head of the Cirebon City Cooperatives, MSMEs, Trade, and Industry Agency (DKUKMPP), in Cirebon on Tuesday. One of the main challenges for MSMEs in Cirebon is the limited access to information about exporting. Many business owners are unfamiliar with export mechanisms and the specific requirements of different countries. Therefore, the city government is addressing these challenges by providing consultation services to help MSMEs understand export procedures.
Additionally, the Cirebon City Government is opening market access for MSMEs to South Korea as part of efforts to expand the reach of local products globally. The government is also collaborating with Bank Indonesia (BI) Cirebon to bring together MSMEs, tax authorities, and customs officials for discussions on MSME development related to exports. Iing emphasized that the development of MSMEs is not limited to Cirebon City but also includes surrounding areas. For example, a rattan company registered in Cirebon City, but based in Cirebon Regency, successfully exported to France through this facilitation. Through collaboration with various parties, including BI Cirebon, the program aims to support MSME growth across the Cirebon Raya region. Currently, there are 350 MSMEs under BI's guidance that are also supported by the local government, with the program expected to encourage more MSMEs to enter the global market.
