Ten leading Indonesian game development companies have made their mark at Gamescom 2024, one of the largest global gaming events held at Koelnmesse Halle, Germany. The event, which has been a staple in the gaming industry's calendar since 2009, attracts developers and publishers worldwide. Supported by Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Ministry of Trade, the Jakarta Provincial Government, Ministry of Communication and Informatics, and the Indonesian Game Association, these companies presented their latest innovations and visions, aiming to expand their global reach and foster connections within the international gaming community.
Among the companies representing Indonesia are Agate, Southeast Asia’s largest game developer; Berangin Creative, known for Kejora; and Glory Jam, creator of Rage in Peace. Others include Gambir Studio, which has launched 13 games on GooglePlay and Apple App Store, as well as Frame Rats Digital, Indonesia's first remote-based studio. Their participation in Gamescom 2024 underscores the growing potential of Indonesia’s gaming industry, which is increasingly gaining recognition for its creativity and quality. Through this exposure, local developers are expected to enhance their competitiveness and secure a stronger foothold in the global gaming market.
