PT Fatih Crafts Lombok, a micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) fostered by the Bank Indonesia (BI) Representative Office in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has successfully penetrated the German market with their rattan handicrafts. The first export shipment of home décor rattan crafts to Germany, consisting of two containers, was officially released by Assistant II of NTB Regional Secretariat Fathul Gani and BI NTB Representative Head Berry Arifsyah Harahap in Mataram on Tuesday (10/9). Berry highlighted that this initial export to Germany resulted from collaborative efforts, including export licensing facilitation, business meetings, and sample product dispatches by Bank Indonesia in cooperation with regional organizations in NTB. He further noted that natural rattan products are in high demand, especially in Europe and Saudi Arabia, and emphasized the potential for Sumbawa Regency to become a source of raw materials for home décor products due to its abundant rattan resources.
Berry also pointed out that expanding exports of commodities that significantly impact public income is essential for driving both local and national economic growth, alongside household consumption. He reported that NTB’s economy has accelerated, with export growth reaching 967.96% (yoy). Bank Indonesia, as the central bank, continues to support economic growth by promoting regional potential to the global stage. Meanwhile, Assistant II Fathul Gani praised Bank Indonesia’s initiative to boost local potential through rattan craft exports to Germany and emphasized the need to maintain production quality. He also highlighted that collaboration among all relevant stakeholders is key to ensuring the sustainability of local products and improving the welfare of the people of NTB.
