Indonesian Seafood Products Shine at FFA 2024

Indonesian seafood products have emerged as the highlight at the Fine Food Australia (FFA) 2024 exhibition, held from 2–5 September 2024 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC). According to Christophorus Barutu, Head of the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Sydney, Indonesia's high-quality seafood products stood out, capturing the attention of restaurant chains and distributors across Australia. PT Sekar Bumi’s frozen seafood received special attention, while Laguna Group’s products also drew significant interest from Australian suppliers. During the event, Indonesian food and beverage products recorded potential transactions worth USD 4 million (IDR 61.44 billion). This success was achieved through various business matchmaking sessions and direct interactions with potential buyers from Australia and other Asia-Pacific countries.
Six exhibitors from Indonesia, including Sony Trading Pty Ltd, Oishi Trading Pty Ltd, PT Alam Scientia Asia, Orang Tua Group, PT Sekar Bumi, and Laguna Group, participated in the exhibition, showcasing frozen seafood, snacks, traditional beverages, and health-based food products made from spices. Christophorus emphasized that the participation of Indonesian exhibitors at FFA 2024 has proven Indonesia’s growing acceptance and appreciation in the international market, particularly in Australia. This success not only opens new business networks but also increases the chances for Indonesian food and beverage products to dominate the Australian market. The government, through ITPC Sydney, remains committed to enhancing product competitiveness and international market penetration in collaboration with business players.
