The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Kemenparekraf/Baparekraf) is working to strengthen the creative economy ecosystem in Tabanan Regency through the "Kelana Nusantara" event. This initiative provides Kemenparekraf/Baparekraf with a platform to gather insights from creative economy stakeholders. Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno attended the "Kelana Nusantara" event at Warung Bamboo Kediri, Tabanan, on Sunday (8/9/2024), and highlighted that one of the key aspirations from creative economy actors in Tabanan is the implementation of the PMK3I (Independent Assessment of Creative Districts/Cities) to identify the leading creative economy subsectors in Tabanan Regency. He emphasized that despite the success of the Kata Kreatif program, the Tabanan Regency Government has yet to request the PMK3I process to become a creative district. Therefore, the "Kelana Nusantara" initiative aims to communicate stakeholders' messages to the Head of the Tabanan Tourism Department, facilitating the next steps.
Sandiaga underscored the significant potential of Tabanan Regency's creative economy and assured Kemenparekraf's readiness to support Tabanan in undergoing the PMK3I process if requested. He noted that if administrative processes, such as form filling, are hindering progress, Kemenparekraf is prepared to provide necessary facilitation. Some districts and cities have independently funded the process due to its proven benefits. Strengthening the creative economy ecosystem is crucial for attracting tourists and distributing them across all tourist destinations in Tabanan. Sandiaga urged the Head of the Tabanan Tourism Department to promptly initiate the PMK3I process and directed Ms. Oneng, Director of Creative Economy Infrastructure at Kemenparekraf, to facilitate the process. This initiative aims to enhance the value of Tabanan's creative economy, boosting tourism and economic growth in the region.
