Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi emphasized the importance of increasing investment in the clean energy sector to drive sustainable economic growth during the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (IISF) on Friday (6/9/2024). "Renewable energy is the energy of the future. Energy is not merely a commodity but a driver of economic growth," stated the Foreign Minister in her press release, quoted on Sunday (8/9/2024). She noted that countries worldwide are racing to transition to low-carbon economies, including Indonesia, which seeks to play a significant role in this effort. "Sustainable development is the key to future prosperity. Indonesia continues to use diplomacy to promote sustainable efforts and global cooperation to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)," she added. Furthermore, the Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of Indonesia's commitment to the Paris Agreement. She emphasized that amid global economic changes, diplomacy plays a crucial role in realizing a sustainable future. "From all these initiatives, Indonesia's message is clear. We must ensure that green technology becomes a public good," she concluded.
