Investment Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani reported that investment realization in the first half of 2024 reached IDR 829.9 trillion. As of the first semester of 2024, this figure represents 67% of the strategic plan target of IDR 1,239 trillion. When compared to President Joko Widodo's target of IDR 1,650 trillion, the realization stands at 50.3%. Investment distribution between Java and outside Java is relatively balanced, with IDR 416.2 trillion (50.2%) invested outside Java and IDR 413.7 trillion (49.8%) within Java. The composition of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Domestic Investment (DI) is also nearly equal, with FDI accounting for IDR 421.7 trillion (50.8%) and DI at IDR 408.2 trillion (49.2%). A notable outcome of this investment is the creation of 1,225,042 jobs in the first half of 2024. Rosan is confident about meeting the annual investment target of IDR 1,650 trillion and plans to intensify efforts in the remaining months until October 2024 to continue and accelerate the programs initiated by the previous Minister of Investment. Under President Joko Widodo’s direction, the Investment Ministry/BKPM aims to achieve the IDR 1,650 trillion investment target for 2024, which is designed to sustain Indonesia's economic growth rate above 5%.
