PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) has encouraged local coffee farmers to enhance their skills and knowledge in developing Indonesian coffee, which has become a sought-after export product globally. PNM's Corporate Secretary, L. Dodot Patria Ary, highlighted the potential of PNM’s clients, such as Didik Suryadi, a coffee farmer from Situbondo who owns the Waroeng Kopi Kayumas café, to boost Indonesia’s trade volume through coffee exports. Didik recently participated in a coffee training and research program initiated by the Italian Embassy in Jakarta. This experience not only enriched his knowledge but also has the potential to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Italy in the coffee sector.
Dodot emphasized that many local coffee farmers are still unaware of the importance of expanding their networks to increase sales in micro and ultra-micro enterprises. He urged these farmers to continually improve their capacities and products to meet export standards. "Indonesian coffee is increasingly being recognized and appreciated internationally. It is crucial for local farmers to prepare themselves and actively promote the unique flavors of Indonesian coffee," Dodot stated on Sunday, 15 August 2024. He also praised Didik’s proactive approach, noting that his café frequently attracts customers from Italy. Kopi Kayumas, one of PNM's flagship products, is regularly featured in various events, showcasing its appeal. Dodot hopes that Didik's success will inspire other micro and ultra-micro business clients to realize and develop their potential. Didik expressed his gratitude to PNM for supporting his coffee business and hopes that Kopi Kayumas will continue to gain popularity among international tourists, helping Indonesian coffee farmers make a mark on the global stage.
