Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno held a meeting with the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland to discuss best practices in the development of Poland's game export industry. Poland has become Europe's largest exporter of games, particularly those that promote Polish cultural content to players worldwide. Sandiaga expressed that Indonesia aims to learn from Poland's successful programs, using them as a benchmark to develop its own game industry. The Polish Ministry is responsible for preserving national heritage and promoting Polish culture, including through digitalization initiatives that encompass literature, design, visual arts, music, film, and the gaming industry. Several Polish gaming companies have received financial support to integrate cultural elements into their games, leading to globally successful titles like The Witcher and Cyberpunk.
Sandiaga proposed a study tour to further explore Poland's approach to integrating cultural elements into games and to enhance the capacity of Indonesian game studios. He also invited Poland and its gaming industry to invest in Indonesia, particularly through the Indonesia Creative Content Fund (ICCF) currently being developed. Additionally, Sandiaga suggested that Poland support a business mission to Indonesia, where Polish companies could attend gaming events, participate in business matching, and observe the growth of Indonesia's game industry, including organizing training programs. Sandiaga was accompanied by key officials from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, emphasizing Indonesia's commitment to strengthening its creative economy through international collaboration.
