The long-term regional development plan (RPJPD) for 2025-2045 of the Bangka Belitung Islands (Kep. Babel) focuses on "Tourism Quality" and "Blue Economy" as the central themes for the western region of Indonesia. This decision was made during a leadership meeting within the Bangka Belitung Provincial Government, chaired by Acting Governor Safrizal ZA, alongside Acting Secretary Fery Afriyanto and Head of the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) Fery Insani on August 20, 2024. Fery Insani explained that these themes align with the long-term vision for Kep. Babel, called "Babel BERTUAH 2045," which stands for Sustainable, Transformative, Excellent, Advanced, and Harmonious development. The focus on quality tourism and the blue economy reflects the area's natural resources and is integral to the long-term regional vision. The RPJPD 2025-2045, set to be approved by the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) on August 21, 2024, is expected to drive comprehensive development efforts.
Acting Governor Safrizal emphasized the importance of aligning regional ambitions with broader national goals and ensuring that development initiatives have a direct impact on the community. He urged for synchronized budgeting between national, provincial, and local levels to support these objectives. Acting Secretary Fery Afriyanto highlighted key indicators for achieving the plan, particularly focusing on enhancing human resources and competitive green-blue economy initiatives. The RPJPD will be realized through four phases: the first phase (2025-2029) will focus on strengthening the foundation for sustainable development; the second phase (2030-2034) will accelerate transformation; the third phase (2035-2039) will enhance regional competitiveness; and the fourth phase (2040-2045) will culminate in achieving the "Babel BERTUAH 2045" vision.
