LPEI Optimistic Jakarta Exports Will Grow Rapidly, with Manufacturing Products as the Mainstay

The Export Financing Agency of Indonesia (LPEI) recognizes the significant role of the Special Capital Region of Jakarta (DKJ) in the national economy. Rini Satriani, Market Intelligence and Leads Management Chief Specialist at LPEI, projects that Jakarta's export growth will increase by 3.5% in 2024 and 4.4% in 2025. This growth is driven by Jakarta’s manufacturing products, which dominate exports to over 209 countries. Key products include mechanical machinery (13.90%), electronics (11.05%), and vehicles and parts (8.04%). Jakarta, with over 3,200 exporters, is a major national backbone, with most having consistently exported over the past five years.

Additionally, there are significant export opportunities for Jakarta’s top products, such as beauty and fragrance products with a potential of IDR 22.12 trillion, pharmaceutical components worth IDR 9.61 trillion, and fish and shellfish valued at IDR 72.68 trillion. Maqin U Norhadi, Executive Director of Business Development at LPEI, noted that LPEI has assisted thousands of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in becoming global exporters, reaching 134 countries, and remains ready to support further expansion.
