The sports industry in Indonesia is increasingly recognized as a key driver of sustained achievements and economic growth. QSight organized a discussion on August 21, 2024, at the Space Q Building in Jakarta, focusing on enhancing participation and expanding contributions to the national sports sector. This event aimed to foster collaboration among stakeholders to boost the development of Indonesia's sports industry and positively impact the sports ecosystem.
Ferry Yuniarto Kono, Director of the Sports Fund and Business Management Agency (LPDUK) at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, highlighted the government's strategic efforts to advance the sector, including the implementation of the National Sports Grand Design (DBON). This framework aims to create a more professional and sustainable sports ecosystem. Ferry emphasized that cross-sector collaboration and integrating entertainment and tourism elements—known as sportainment and sport tourism—are crucial strategies for increasing public interest and generating significant socio-economic benefits. Muhammad Maulana from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry projected that the sports industry would grow by 10.96% from 2022 to 2027, reaching IDR 96 trillion by 2027, with increasing public awareness and government support contributing to this growth.
