The economic growth in the Rebana area, encompassing Cirebon, Patimban, and Kertajati, reached 5.8%, surpassing the average growth rates of West Java and the national level. Bernardus Djonoputro, Head of the Rebana Area Management Agency, noted that this growth trend is positive and shows the region's role as a rapidly developing economic hub. The region also saw an 8.5% increase in investment in the first half of 2024, leading to the creation of numerous new job opportunities. Bernardus expressed optimism that the Rebana area would become a new economic pole for West Java.
Additionally, the development of 13 new industrial-based residential areas has significantly contributed to the region's growth, with seven areas already active and two showing particularly intense economic activities. Bernardus highlighted Cipali Timur in Subang and Kertajati - Jatitujuh in Majalengka as areas with promising progress, marked by significant investment inflows. He mentioned that during the 79th anniversary of West Java, these areas would be launched as examples of the Rebana region's success.
