The Belitung Regency Government in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province has partnered with the local Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) to boost the regional economy and improve the welfare of the community. Acting Regent Mikron Antariksa emphasized the importance of Kadin's involvement in creating synergy with the government to revitalize the local economy, especially in light of the challenges faced by the tin ore sector, which has significantly impacted the region's economic conditions.
Mikron expressed confidence that Kadin's presence would bring economic revitalization by managing resources beyond the tin mining sector. He highlighted tourism as the clear future direction for Belitung's development, stressing the need to enhance all related businesses. Addressing issues like limited flight availability, Mikron urged Kadin to collaborate with airlines to increase flight frequency to Belitung. Additionally, he encouraged Kadin to organize events that would attract tourists to the region. Mikron also mentioned discussions with various Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) to bring national events to Belitung, which would indirectly benefit local businesses, including small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
