The Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) has announced the issuance of 10 million Business Identification Numbers (NIBs) through the Online Single Submission (OSS) integrated registration system, which facilitates business operations and investments. Since the launch of OSS in August 2021, the cumulative number of registered NIBs has seen a significant annual increase. Tina Talisa, spokesperson for the Ministry, highlighted that the rise in NIB issuances reflects a growing awareness among entrepreneurs about the importance of business legality. The system has effectively replaced the need for separate licenses such as the Business License (SIUP), Company Registration Certificate (TDP), and Business Certificate (SKU), streamlining the permitting process and reinforcing the commitment to sustainable investment climate advancement.
Of the 10 million registered NIBs, the majority are from Micro and Small Enterprises (UMK), with 9,909,900 licenses issued. Medium enterprises account for 28,303 NIBs, and large enterprises have 61,816 NIBs. Tina noted that reaching this milestone in August, coinciding with Indonesia's 79th Independence Day, serves as a special achievement and a reminder to continually enhance public services. The Ministry aims to further ease investment in Indonesia through a comprehensive end-to-end facility process that includes investment plan exploration, consultation services, licensing facilitation, and communication bridging with relevant parties.
