The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) continues to show its commitment to supporting the growth of Indonesia's creative industry. One tangible step towards this is the Apresiasi Kreasi Indonesia (AKI) Exhibition held at Mega Mall, Batam, from August 2-4, 2024. This event successfully attracted local tourists and buyers from Singapore and Malaysia, providing a platform for promoting local creative products to international markets. Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno highlighted that relocating the event to Batam had an immediate positive impact, with foreign tourists from Singapore and Malaysia placing orders, and many products selling out within the three-day exhibition. He emphasized that this success demonstrates the effectiveness of Kemenparekraf's programs, which are well-targeted, beneficial, and timely. Sandiaga expressed hope that the participants of the AKI Exhibition in Tanjung Pinang could capitalize on this momentum to penetrate the export market.
The 2024 AKI Exhibition in Batam is part of Kemenparekraf's strategy to facilitate collaboration between creative industry players and various stakeholders, including the government, private sector, and creative communities. The event showcased a wide range of products from the fashion, handicrafts, culinary, applications, music, and film sub-sectors, with 30 participants in total: 15 culinary, 6 handicrafts, 4 fashion, 1 application, 2 music, and 2 film. Sandiaga hopes that such events can be held regularly and become an annual agenda anticipated by creative industry players, the general public, and international tourists. In addition to displaying creative products, the 2024 AKI Exhibition also featured various talk shows and workshops aimed at educating the public on the importance of sustainability and innovation within the creative industry.
