PT Inizio, a furniture company based in Kendal, has significantly benefited from the KITE IKM facility provided by the Indonesian Customs. This facility, aimed at supporting small and medium-sized industries in importing materials for export purposes, has enabled PT Inizio to expand its export operations. On Wednesday, 11 August, the company successfully exported wooden chairs and synthetic rattan furniture valued at IDR 540 million to the United States, utilizing a 40-foot container. Bier Budy Kismulyanto, Head of the Semarang Customs Office, highlighted that PT Inizio, which has been granted the KITE IKM facility since 2020, focuses on manufacturing export-oriented furniture. Most of the products are crafted from aluminum, intricately woven with synthetic rattan, and combined with teak wood. This facility has allowed the company to reduce production costs, enhancing its competitiveness in the international market.
Hartono, PT Inizio’s Head of Production, shared that the company employs traditional methods in crafting its products, with artisans handling both the weaving and design processes manually. He further explained that PT Inizio exports an average of 60 containers each month, with 80% of these exports destined for Europe, Japan, and the United States. This steady growth in exports demonstrates the positive impact of the KITE IKM facility on small and medium-sized enterprises, enabling them to compete effectively on the global stage and contribute to Indonesia’s economic growth.
