President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo announced that a total of IDR 56.2 trillion has been invested in the development of Nusantara Capital City (IKN), excluding government funds. This investment, disclosed during the first cabinet meeting held in the new capital on August 12, 2024, comes from 55 companies across various sectors, including education, health, retail, logistics, hotels, energy, transportation, banking, residential areas, green spaces, and media technology. Jokowi emphasized the IKN's commitment to building a green and digital economy, including the development of a data center and financial center.
Following the cabinet meeting, President Jokowi laid the foundation stone for an infrastructure project in the central government core area (KIPP), while Vice President Ma'ruf Amin commenced the construction of the Vice President's Palace. The groundbreaking ceremony for the seventh phase of IKN development also saw participation from four private companies—BCA, Swiss-Belhotel, Royal Golden Eagle, and Intiland. Endra S. Atmawidjaja, Expert Staff to the Minister of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) for Technology, Industry, and Environment, confirmed that the Vice President's Palace is located in the East Axis of KIPP IKN.
