The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs announced that the development of the new capital city, Nusantara (IKN), in East Kalimantan is supported by nine Detailed Spatial Plans (RDTR) to facilitate investor entry. Wahyu Utomo, Special Staff for Regional Development Acceleration, Infrastructure Development, and Investment, stated in a virtual discussion on Monday, August 5, 2024, that the RDTRs clearly delineate land use, making it easier for investors to understand and navigate the investment landscape. The existence of these RDTRs allows investors to quickly align their plans with the predetermined land uses. Wahyu emphasized that the RDTRs map out specific areas for different purposes, simplifying the investment process. The RDTRs have been formalized as regulations under the Head of the Nusantara Capital City Authority (OIKN). According to the annex of Law No. 3 of 2022 on the IKN Master Plan, Indonesia aims to become one of the world's top five economies and achieve high-income status by 2045. This goal rests on four main pillars: human development and mastery of science and technology, sustainable economic growth, equitable development, and strengthened national resilience and governance. The relocation of the capital is a strategic move to realize Indonesia's 2045 economic targets, promoting inclusive and equitable economic growth through accelerated development in Eastern Indonesia. The new capital, Nusantara, is intended to serve as a central hub and a symbol of national identity. The relocation and development of the new capital are based on mature urban planning principles and the long-term needs and vision of the nation. These planning paradigms and development principles are crucial considerations in the new capital's development.
