The Geological Agency of Indonesia's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has introduced GeoRIMA (Geological Resources of Indonesia Multiplatform Application), a groundbreaking tool designed to attract investment in the mining sector. Head of the Geological Agency, Muhammad Wafid, stated that the app provides comprehensive information on the potential of minerals, coal, and geothermal resources across Indonesia, aiming to facilitate access to data for investors. “GeoRIMA is a breakthrough to serve the public, making it easier for investors and industry players in minerals, coal, and geothermal sectors,” Wafid said in Bandung on Monday. He highlighted that the application would be beneficial for both the general public and investors, allowing them to explore and utilize Indonesia's geological resources more effectively.
The app features an interactive map displaying locations of potential mineral, coal, and geothermal resources. Users can access geological data, exploration reports, and other technical information necessary for informed investment decisions through the website georima.esdm.go.id. “Easy access to data and information is the foundation of investment. Without information on potential resources, investors are unlikely to be interested,” Wafid emphasized. He explained that GeoRIMA aligns with the Geological Agency's responsibilities in conducting research, investigation, and services in geological resources and disaster mitigation. “Mineral resources are one of Indonesia's strategic commodities, with significant and varied potential. These resources play a crucial role in addressing global issues,” Wafid added. He reiterated that the availability of accurate data and information is critical to attracting investor interest and supporting Indonesia's strategic mineral resources in the global market.
