East Java Governor Launches Export of Top Products to Four Countries

Acting Governor of East Java, Adhy Karyono, flagged off five trucks loaded with export products valued at IDR 1.3 billion to four countries during the 2024 Export Festival in Surabaya on Wednesday. These trucks carried top products from East Java, including items from local industries and village enterprises. Adhy emphasized the significance of this event, highlighting that it represents continued export efforts and an entry point for higher achievements, particularly showcasing the success of village enterprises (Desa Devisa) in exporting their unique products. Among the exported products were chocolate spices from the Mulyojati Farmers Group and rattan crafts from Kriya Giri Sejahtera Cooperative, both destined for Japan with export values of USD 37,500 and USD 16,200, respectively. Additionally, PT Aji Bakuh Anugrah exported rice husk charcoal to South Korea, valued at USD 30,000. Singosari Bumdesma shipped orchids to the United States, with an export value of USD 6,541, and PT Satoria Agro Industri exported Richwell biscuits to Thailand, valued at USD 8,247.20. Adhy emphasized the importance of these exports as a model for other villages, demonstrating that local products can successfully penetrate international markets. He credited the success of the Export Festival to the collaboration and synergy among various stakeholders, including the East Java Provincial Government, the Ministry of Finance, and partners in the Department of Industry and Trade.

East Java ranks third in national export performance, contributing 9.76% to national exports from January to June 2024. The province's cumulative export value during this period reached USD 12.14 billion, with non-oil and gas exports accounting for USD 11.67 billion, representing 93.49% of the total exports in June 2024. The primary export commodities are dominated by the processing industry, making up 87.74% of exports, with China, the United States, and Japan being the main destinations. Ahmad Bambang Bintoro, Head of Regional Office III of the Indonesian Export Service Agency, highlighted the importance of collaboration to strengthen the export ecosystem. He urged increased export volumes for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), noting that East Java has 2,500 exporters. Government support is crucial to providing financing and guarantees that bolster national exports. He expressed confidence that East Java could become a central hub for global exports with the right support for the export community.
