The Bank Indonesia Representative Office in Papua aims to boost international tourist visits through thematic tourism study dissemination. This sector is a key economic area that needs development in the region. Faturachman, Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office in Papua, stated in Jayapura on Tuesday that the office is currently promoting the tourism sector, given the untapped potential in Papua. "We are exploring the tourism sector, and through this thematic study dissemination, we aim to capture the dynamics in Papua Province," he said.
According to Faturachman, the analysis has focused on several locations, including Lake Sentani, Base G Beach, Biak, and other areas. "Based on the analysis, these locations can be developed further, including accommodation, tour packages, and human resources," he added. He emphasized that dissemination is crucial for collectively advancing the tourism sector in Papua Province. "This is a shared challenge to develop tourism and increase visitor numbers to Papua Province," Faturachman remarked. He also highlighted the importance of collaboration, innovation, and creativity to support the tourism sector in Papua. The Bank Indonesia Representative Office is conducting an economic report dissemination for Papua Province and a thematic study on tourism, featuring business actors from outside Papua.
