Indonesia's trade balance recorded a surplus in March 2020. In fact, the value is higher than the expectations.
The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported on Wednesday (4/16/2020), the value of Indonesia's exports last month was US $ 14.09%. Slightly decreased -0.2% compared to the same period on the previous year. Although it was penetrated (growing negatively), but more sloping than the market consensus compiled by CNBC Indonesia, which is -6.5%.
While the import value was recorded at US $ 13.35 billion, decreased by -0.75% compared to the same period in 2019. It’s also sloping than the market consensus that estimated at -8.24%.
This makes Indonesia's trade balance posted a surplus of US $ 740 million. Higher than market expectations of US $ 544 million.
