Indonesia and Malaysia Foster Export Opportunities Through Business Matching Event

The Indonesian Ministry of Trade hosted a business matching event between Indonesian entrepreneurs and Johor Port Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian company, in Surabaya, East Java, on 22 July. The event, opened by Arief Wibisono, Director of Market Development and Export Information, was organized by the Export Center Surabaya (ECS), a regional extension of the Ministry in East Java. The hybrid event aimed to enhance export activities and was attended by businesses involved in the coconut product sector, a focus area for ECS, along with representatives from the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI) in East Java. In his opening remarks, Arief Wibisono emphasized the government's commitment to facilitating businesses in boosting exports, highlighting the role of business matching events in achieving this goal. He expressed optimism that such initiatives would continue until actual export agreements were realized.

This event underscores Indonesia's proactive approach to expanding its export markets and building strong trade relationships with Malaysia, particularly in the coconut product sector. It also reflects the government's strategic efforts to support and develop local businesses, offering them greater access to international markets and financial resources. The business matching initiative aims to foster long-term partnerships and enhance trade volumes between the two countries, contributing positively to Indonesia's export growth and economic development. By leveraging such platforms, the Ministry of Trade seeks to ensure sustainable export growth and increased market penetration for Indonesian products.
