Purwakarta has added another commodity to its list of international exports. Following the success of mangosteen, Purwakarta's melon production is now making a mark in the global market with its first export of melons branded as Melon Marakaito. "I am very grateful for this first melon export, which coincides with the 193rd anniversary of Purwakarta and the 56th anniversary of Purwakarta Regency. This achievement can be considered a special gift for Purwakarta," said Benni to the media on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. Benni noted that Purwakarta's successful melon export, following the previous success with mangosteen, is an extraordinary leap and accomplishment.

He hopes that in the future, melon exports will increase in both quantity and quality to meet the ongoing demand from export destination countries. "This achievement is thanks to the support and guidance from various parties, including the Ministry of Agriculture, the Indonesian Quarantine Agency, and others who ensured that our melons are export-worthy," Benni explained. Benni also expressed his appreciation to PT Sweet Green Indonesia for their hard work in making Purwakarta's melons viable for the export market. "Thank you and congratulations on the first melon export from Purwakarta. Hopefully, in the future, there will be more countries targeted for melon exports by PT Sweet Green Indonesia," he concluded.
