Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahudin Uno, believes that concerts in Indonesia can boost tourism promotion and the creative economy by attracting visitors to the areas around concert venues. During "The Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno" event in Jakarta on Monday, Sandiaga noted that numerous concerts featuring both local and international musicians are held annually in Indonesia. When concerts collaborate with micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the culinary sector, these events also promote local cuisine. Sandiaga highlighted the integration of food and beverage MSMEs with music festivals, enhancing their appeal. Sandiaga emphasized that music concerts in Indonesia have a positive impact on the creative economy and tourism promotion. Concerts can stimulate the local economy, benefiting services like accommodation and transportation, including flights, as music enthusiasts travel from other regions or countries.
The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) hopes for the continuous occurrence of such domino effects from concerts, raising Indonesia's profile on the international stage. "This helps the movement of domestic tourists, and possibly international tourists as well," Sandiaga added. Agreeing with Sandiaga, Deputy for Tourism Products and Event Organizers at Kemenparekraf, Vinsensius Jemadu, stated that they are currently enhancing the quality of events in Indonesia, including concerts. "Quality means ensuring these events have a positive impact economically, socially, culturally, and environmentally on the community," Vinsensius said. He also mentioned that Kemenparekraf consistently supports and facilitates licensing and promotional amplification through their media channels.
