The Provincial Government of South Sulawesi (Sulsel), through its Industry and Trade Office (Disperindag Sulsel), launched the Sulsel Go Export initiative, exporting 27 commodities to 23 countries. The total export volume was 138,734 tons, valued at USD 67.08 million, equivalent to IDR 1.08 trillion. Acting Head of Disperindag Sulsel, Since Erna Lamba, stated that the event aimed to motivate exporters from South Sulawesi and Eastern Indonesia to collaborate and boost exports, thereby accelerating Sulsel's economic growth. The event, held at the Governor's Official Residence on Sunday, 21 July, saw the participation of 55 exporters. The products exported included coconut shell charcoal, cocoa beans, coffee beans, nutmeg, carrageenan, cloves, damar resin, wheat bran, octopus, processed fish, fresh fish, cocoa liquor, shell buttons, cinnamon, processed wood, konjac chips, konjac powder, cashew skins, pepper, cashew nuts, cashew oil, patchouli oil, nickel, seaweed, flying fish roe, seaweed flour, processed shrimp, and fresh shrimp. Eight exporters represented the 55 participants during the ceremony. Six exporters shipped their goods to China, while others exported to Nigeria and Malaysia.
Acting Governor of Sulsel, Prof. Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, expressed pride in Sulsel's ability to export products such as black pepper, cloves, nutmeg, and fish. He emphasized the importance of continuing these exports, including processed products like porang, coffee, and cocoa, to various countries. Prof. Zudan highlighted that these products are processed natural resources, developed by small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The Sulsel Go Export event also featured a small and medium industry (IKM) product exhibition, with 64 SMEs showcasing food, beverages, and handicrafts, supported by Disperindag Sulsel and Bank Sulselbar. Additionally, a low-cost market offering basic necessities like rice, cooking oil, flour, eggs, and chicken was held to help meet the community's needs. This initiative underscores Sulsel's commitment to enhancing its export capacity and supporting local SMEs in reaching international markets.
