The recent UMKM Expo held by the Central Java Department of Cooperatives and SMEs achieved a notable transaction turnover of IDR 127.5 million over two days. This amount reflects direct sales from 20 participating SMEs. Made Sudiarta, a visitor from Bali, highlighted the appeal of Central Java’s batik products, praising their modern designs and authenticity. Another attendee, Nyoman Sri Murtini, expressed interest in Yura Lashes’ meticulously crafted false eyelashes from Purbalingga, noting their high quality and connection to a well-known brand. The expo featured a diverse range of products, including Syirka Eco Print from Sukoharjo, furniture and home decor by Surya Java Furnindo from Semarang, and more. Johan Lesmana, an exhibitor from Surya Java Furnindo, expressed hopes for frequent business networking events to boost SME sales and enhance the visibility of Central Java products in Bali.
Central Java's Department of Cooperatives and SMEs, led by Eddy S. Bramiyanto, reported significant business contract signings with buyers from the USA and Austria, amounting to IDR 66.025 billion. This figure surpasses the initial target of IDR 35 billion, with contracts spanning 1 to 5 years for products including furniture, home decor, food, beverages, and musical instruments. This initiative aims to increase the export potential of Central Java's SMEs. Shinta Nana Sudjana, Acting Chair of the Central Java Regional Handicraft Council (Dekranasda), emphasized that promoting Central Java’s SMEs in international markets involves strategic efforts such as business contact events and exhibitions in prominent locations like Bali, chosen for its international market exposure. The expo also featured an interactive discussion on "Strategies for SMEs to Excel in the International Market," involving various stakeholders from SMEs, Central Java provincial government, and Bali provincial government.
