The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that Indonesia's export value in June 2024 reached USD 20.84 billion, a decrease of 6.65% compared to May 2024. However, when compared to June 2023, the export value increased by 1.17%. According to Acting Head of BPS, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, non-oil and gas exports in June 2024 were USD 19.61 billion, down 6.20% from May 2024 but up 1.40% compared to non-oil and gas exports in June 2023. Among the ten largest non-oil and gas export commodities in June 2024, most experienced a decline, with the largest decrease seen in precious metals and jewelry/gems by USD 440.5 million (45.76%). "Meanwhile, the increase was noted in animal/vegetable fats and oils, which rose by USD 1,091.5 million (68.06%)," said Winny on Monday (July 15, 2024).
Cumulatively, Indonesia's export value from January to June 2024 reached USD 125.09 billion, a decline of 2.76% compared to the same period in 2023. In line with the total exports, non-oil and gas exports amounting to USD 117.19 billion also decreased by 2.99%. By sector, non-oil and gas exports from the manufacturing industry from January to June 2024 rose by 0.40% compared to the same period in 2023. Similarly, exports from agriculture, forestry, and fisheries increased by 6.73%, while exports from mining and others fell by 15.05%. The largest non-oil and gas exports in June 2024 were to China at USD 4.65 billion, the United States at USD 1.97 billion, and India at USD 1.84 billion, with the three countries contributing 43.13%. Exports to ASEAN and the European Union (27 countries) were USD 3.62 billion and USD 1.21 billion, respectively. By province of origin, Indonesia's largest exports from January to June 2024 came from West Java Province, valued at USD 17.99 billion (14.39%), followed by East Kalimantan at USD 12.57 billion (10.04%), and East Java at USD 12.20 billion (9.76%).
