The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) continues to urge industry players to adhere to Indonesian National Standards (SNI) and meet Domestic Component Levels (TKDN). This emphasis aims not only to control the quality of industrial products but also to enhance their competitiveness through standardization and TKDN certification. Indonesia's domestic sports equipment industry has gained global recognition, evidenced by its 2023 exports totaling USD 262.6 million, surpassing imports valued at USD 160.6 million. Reni Yanita, Director General of Small, Medium, and Miscellaneous Industry (IKMA), highlighted this achievement, noting the industry's potential amid prevalent imported products.Indonesia currently holds a 0.66% share in global export markets, ranking 25th. China leads with a 43.4% export share, indicating substantial growth opportunities for Indonesia's sports equipment industry.
To support compliance with SNI, Kemenperin facilitates SNI certification programs for domestic sports equipment manufacturers. Certification aims to enhance product quality assurance, production efficiency, national competitiveness, promote fair and transparent trade practices, ensure business certainty and capability, and foster technological innovation. Adherence to standards also enhances consumer, business, labor, societal, and environmental protections. Industrial standardization further improves certainty, smoothness, and efficiency in domestic and international trade transactions. Additionally, Indonesia's domestic industry meets international standards, exemplified by PT. Global Way Indonesia's soccer balls meeting FIFA standards. These balls, produced in Madiun, East Java, were used during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
