Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan has overseen the export launch of home decoration products, specifically lamps and mirrors made from natural fibers by the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) CV Palem Craft to Spain in Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, today, Saturday (6/7). The exported home decoration products from CV Palem Craft to Spain amounted to USD 7,000. From January to July 2024, CV Palem Craft recorded a total export value of USD 245,000 or approximately IDR 3.99 billion. The main export destinations for CV Palem Craft include Spain, France, India, the United States, the Netherlands, Australia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the Maldives. CV Palem Craft projects its 2024 exports to reach USD 500,000.
Minister Zulkifli Hasan emphasized that this export event demonstrates the government's support for SMEs and aims to boost Indonesia's exports. "The key is collaboration. The central and regional governments must collaborate to leverage the potentials in their respective regions. Java is a hub of trade and industry, so more SMEs need to thrive. The government must support SMEs in exports and develop non-traditional markets. Be different and be Indonesia's pride," said Minister Zulkifli Hasan. He stressed that for Indonesian home decoration products to compete globally, they must be the best and differentiate themselves from competitors' products. The event was attended by Yogyakarta Special Region Secretary Beny Suharsono, Bantul Regency's Secretary of Cooperatives, SMEs, Industry, and Trade Husin Bahri, as well as officials from the Ministry of Trade and CV Palem Craft CEO Deddy Effendy, among others.
