Equipped with business lessons learned online through the Indonesia Export channel, Elsa Syafitri, an MSME entrepreneur in Jambi City, successfully expanded her business to the export market. One of Indonesia's sought-after resources abroad is amber, a type of gemstone formed from fossilized tree resin. PT Anugerah Berkah Berniaga, a Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) in Jambi City, successfully developed its business to the export market. On Thursday, July 4, 2024, the company conducted its first export of amber commodities from Jambi Province to China. Elsa Syafitri, Director of PT Anugerah Berkah Berniaga, stated that the exported commodity is black amber obtained from farmers in various districts across Jambi Province. The initial export to China amounted to 16,500 KG or 16.5 tons, valued at IDR 160 million. "We export black amber sourced from various districts in Jambi Province. We shipped 16,500 KG or 16.5 tons to China, valued at IDR 160 million," explained Elsa Syafitri, Director of PT Anugerah Berkah Berniaga, on Friday, July 5.
Elsa also expressed her aim for the community to benefit from coal mining waste and inspire young people to continue their willingness to learn. For the shipment of her commodities, Elsa used the services of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) Persero, Jambi regional office, located in Talang Duku, Muaro Jambi Regency. Pelindo welcomed this development and is committed to supporting all activities of PT Anugerah Berkah, particularly in promoting Jambi commodities to the international level. "This is our first time exporting with the community in Jambi Province, enabling them to compete in the international export market," said Ajie Nur Rendra Graha, Manager of Technical and Operations at PT Pelindo, on Friday, July 5. Seeing this success, Pelindo also encourages more MSMEs to explore potential businesses in the export market. It is worth noting that amber is a natural material with numerous benefits and potential applications in various industries. With proper processing, amber can be used as a raw material for paint, varnish, paper, medicine, and other products.
