INA and Australia Agree to Enhance Investment Cooperation

The Indonesia Investment Authority (INA) and the Australian Embassy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance Australian investment in Indonesia. INA's Chairman of the Board of Directors, Ridha Wirakusumah, emphasized that this MoU is a crucial step in attracting and increasing Australian investment in Indonesia. Through this partnership, significant Australian investments in key sectors are expected to support Indonesia's growth and development. The MoU, signed by Ridha Wirakusumah and the Australian Ambassador to Indonesia, Penny Williams PSM, is part of the "Invested: Australia's Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040" program, announced by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Jakarta in September 2023. This initiative aims to boost Australian investment in Indonesia through the Australian Embassy Jakarta Investment Deal Team, which integrates the private sector, government, and financial services to support these investments.

The Australian Embassy Jakarta Investment Deal Team will work with INA to identify suitable assets and structures, ensuring that these opportunities are ready for Australian investors. The collaboration aims to connect Indonesian projects with Australian investors, creating business opportunities and jobs for both countries. Ambassador Penny Williams emphasized the importance of strengthening strategic economic cooperation with Indonesia, highlighting Indonesia as one of Australia’s key partners. This partnership is expected to foster significant economic growth and development in both nations, leveraging the combined expertise and resources of both countries to create mutually beneficial investment opportunities.
