Bio Soltamax, an organic fertilizer from Bandung, has successfully penetrated 13 international markets and is now targeting African countries. Mulki Mulyana, Deputy Managing Director of PT Solusi Tani Makmur, mentioned that these 13 countries include the United States, Lithuania, Turkey, the Netherlands, Libya, Nigeria, Mozambique, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, and Timor Leste. "Data from Nigeria and Mozambique shows their agricultural yields increased from 4 tons to 7 tons," Mulki told reporters in Bandung. In addition to Africa, Mulki aims to expand into Asian markets. However, entry into Europe requires rigorous feasibility tests. "Even though our product has organic certification from Indonesian institutions, entering Europe is still challenging," he explained. Initially, Bio Soltamax was in liquid form and later transformed into solid briquettes. This organic fertilizer is designed to improve soil quality, containing billions of microbes that grow and develop when in contact with water. It also reduces excessive chemical use by up to 100%. The elements within the fertilizer restore soil damaged by years of chemical exposure.
This organic fertilizer has been implemented across Indonesia, both by individual farmers and companies. The government has procured this fertilizer twice in Batam. He noted that using this fertilizer can increase crop yields. Depending on the plant type, harvest yields can rise between 20% and 60%. For rice and corn, yields increase by 15%-31%, while horticultural crops like vegetables and tubers see a 21%-34% increase. "For cucumbers, chilies, and others, it can increase by 50%-70%, and for palm oil and dates, by 36%-42%," he added. Muhammad Yasan, Operations Manager of PT Solusi Tani Makmur, said the company is working with farmer groups, cooperatives, corporations, and B2B agents across Indonesia to develop the domestic market. However, the current focus is on exports, as the product has proven effective and has been endorsed by Bank Indonesia under the Green MSME initiative. "Our product is truly green, reducing transport emissions and 75% of chemical fertilizers, helping mitigate global warming caused by the agricultural industry," he stated. The company has also been facilitated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to participate in the Asia-Africa Forum in Bali in September 2024.
